We appreciate Gwen Thomas’ kind words at our town hall meeting in Logan, West Virginia. Her brother, Grover, was one of the 29 Mine Safety and Health Administration’s (MSHA) victims when he was killed in the Upper Big Branch (UBB) mine explosion on April 5, 2010. We wish to express our sincere thanks to Gwen for her understanding, her courage, and her support.
This is a speech by Don Blankenship, former CEO of Massey Energy Company and Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, at a town hall meeting in Logan, West Virginia, on January 18, 2018.
Senator Joe Manchin just doesn’t get it. Manchin did what the Democratic Party and liberal Senator Chuck Schumer told him to do. He voted against lower income taxes for West Virginians and voted for the DC swamp!

Don Blankenship, former CEO of Massey Energy Company and candidate for U.S. Senate, released today the second ad in a series of ads that will highlight his professional and political accomplishments, and community involvement. “Don Blankenship for Senate” also issued an explanation of the campaign’s ad. The ad features Pastor Mike Bostic expressing his feelings about Don Blankenship’s three decades of positive engagement to help the less fortunate in West Virginia. Blankenship is known to have done more for needy children in West Virginia than most any other individual. His contributions for the benefit of children alone (both corporate and…

The event will begin at 6 p.m. Mr. Blankenship will speak briefly and be followed by an hour long question and answer session with the audience. “I am looking forward to hearing from voters in the greater Logan area and to explaining why I am the best candidate for U.S. Senate. Williamson, W.Va. – Don Blankenship, former CEO of Massey Energy Company and candidate for U.S. Senate, issued the first ad in a series that will highlight his professional and political accomplishments, and involvement within his community. Don Blankenship’s opponents like to make sound bite statements such as “Don put profits before safety.” These types of statements are made to distract from the truth and to protect politicians who do nothing to make miners safer. The truth is that no one did more for coal miner safety than Don Blankenship and coal miners know it. Veteran coal miner Danny Muncy makes that…
The media, the politicians and in particular Senator Joe Manchin want the television and social media ads that are exposing the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s (MSHA) Upper Big Branch (UBB) cover-up to stop. Some in the media even say the UBB explosion is old news, and they say “no one cares about that anymore.” But that is wishful thinking on their part. Below is a timeline that will interest anyone who wants to learn the UBB truth. Also attached is one of the many MSHA emails we have mentioned as having in our possession. September 1, 2011: Jack Kuzar,…
Williamson, W.Va. – Don Blankenship, former CEO of Massey Energy Company and candidate for U.S. Senate, issued the following statement in response to questions about his new campaign ad. The media has asked to see the documents that are referenced in our latest ad, the Wall Street Journal and others included. The television ad says that the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) “fixed” their Internal Review report when the first drafts appeared to say that MSHA was responsible for a “defective ventilation plan.” The ad also says that lead MSHA coal mine regulator Kevin Stricklin intimidated investigation team members,…
