Today Thursday March 14, 2019 my attorneys filed on my behalf a lawsuit against some of the fake news and Washington D.C. “swampers”. The fake news outlets include, among others, MSNBC, CNN and, sadly, Fox News and the guy Fox holds out to be their legal expert, Judge Napolitano. Amongst the swampers are the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), several of their operatives and possibly even some of their larger donors. At its core, the lawsuit is a defamation claim but broadly, it comes down to the swamp and mainstream media colluding to interfere in the 2018 United States Senate election right here in West Virginia.
The lawsuit also makes clear that the purposeful and illegal defamation was carried out as a result of collusion with and encouragement from Republican government officials.
In the lawsuit, we allege that the defamation was planned by a group of United States Senators, members of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and likely others before the election. The plan apparently included the development of a “menu list of items to stop Blankenship” from winning the West Virginia Republican Primary. We allege that meetings were initiated by Republican Leaders over concern that I would win the election for the Republican nomination for the West Virginia US Senate Seat. These meetings were for the purpose of interfering in the May 8, 2018 Primary. In the days prior to Election Day the Defendants repeatedly called me a ‘convicted felon’. Judge Napolitano stated that I was convicted of “manslaughter.”
