Let’s all remember as we celebrate Thanksgiving that the Pilgrims did not come to America in the 17th century looking for a government handout. Nor did they expect to find a government waiting for them in the American wilderness that would give them everything for free. Instead, they came to America to escape a government that abused them in their native country.
The Pilgrims came here because they believed what Ronald Reagan said (paraphrased) over 300 years later, “government was not the solution to their problems it was their single biggest problem”.
